The number of people employed in the manufacturing industry increased by 17,000 in September and decreased by 17,000 in August. The number of people employed in trade/transport/utilities remained unchanged in September and decreased by 50,000 in August. The number of people employed in the financial services sector fell by 16,000 in September and increased by 60,000 in August. The number of people employed in professional/commercial services fell by 11,000 in September and 16,000 in August. The median annual wage growth rate for construction workers was 4.0% in September and 4.0% in August. The median annual wage growth rate for workers employed in the manufacturing industry was 3.5% in September, and 3.5% in August. The median annual wage growth rate for trade/transport/utility workers was 3.4% in September and 3.3% in August. The median annual wage growth rate for employees in the financial services industry was 3.5% in September, and 3.5% in August. The median annual salary growth rate for professional/commercial service workers was 3.2% in September and 3.2% in August.
