With a market cap of $80.7 billion, New York-based Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. (MRSH) is a prominent professional services firm that helps businesses manage risk, insurance, and workforce-related challenges. The company operates through Risk and Insurance Services and Consulting segments, serving a wide range of clients worldwide.

The insurance titan is set to announce its fiscal Q3 2026 results before the market opens on Thursday, Oct. 15. Ahead of this event, analysts forecast MRSH to report an adjusted EPS of $1.96, a rise of 6% from $1.85 in the year-ago quarter. It has exceeded Wall Street's earnings estimates in the last four quarters.

Looking further ahead, expectations remain upbeat, with fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS forecast at $10.44, a 7.1% increase from $9.75 in fiscal 2025, followed by a projected 9% rise to $11.38 in fiscal 2027.

Shares of Marsh & McLennan have declined 14.9% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind both the S&P 500 Index's ($SPX) 15.2% increase and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF's (XLF) marginal rise over the same period.

Marsh & McLennan has trailed the broader market over the past year as softer commercial insurance pricing, rising operating costs, and acquisition-related leverage have weighed on its growth and margins. Declining property and casualty rates have pressured organic expansion, while higher compensation and talent-retention costs have added to the strain.

Still, the company continues to return capital to shareholders. On Sept. 16, MRSH declared a quarterly dividend of $0.99 per share, payable Nov. 13, 2026, reinforcing its commitment to shareholder returns.

Analysts' consensus view on MRSH stock is cautiously optimistic, with a "Moderate Buy" rating overall. Among 26 analysts covering the stock, eight recommend "Strong Buy," 17 "Holds," and one suggests "Moderate Sell."

The average analyst price target for Marsh & McLennan is $203.91, suggesting a potential upside of 19.7% from current levels.
