08:06 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK's Financial Conduct Authority opened applications for authorization from cryptoasset firms operating in the country, ahead of a new regime that will bring such firms under full FCA regulation for the first time. The British regulator set a target date of Feb. 28, 2027, for cryptoasset firms to apply ahead of the new regime taking effect on Oct. 25, 2027, according to a Wednesday notice. To be authorized, the FCA said firms will need to show they meet its requirements, and those that cannot will not be allowed to operate in the UK market.
