04:51 AM EDT, 09/30/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aldar Properties (ADX:ALDAR) established a 15 billion-Emirati-dirham partnership with Dubai-based private developer Arada to explore major development opportunities in Abu Dhabi. The collaboration initially includes a joint venture to develop a large mixed-use community at Seih Sdeirah on the Abu Dhabi-Dubai border, Abu Dhabi-listed real estate developer Aldar said Wednesday. It combines Aldar's scale, landbank and established development platform with Arada's experience in developing large-scale communities. The planned Seih Sdeirah community will feature villas and townhouses on up to 1.5 million square meters of land, alongside retail and recreational amenities. Arada will lead development and construction management, while the companies will jointly handle marketing and sales. As part of the partnership, Arada also acquired three development plots on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island from Aldar to develop a premium residential community. The acquired plots have a combined plot area of over 27,500 square meters and a total gross floor area of 130,000 square meters. The deal represents the first phase of a broader strategic tie-up between Aldar and Arada, while marking the latter's first development presence in Abu Dhabi. "This partnership brings together two leading UAE developers with complementary capabilities and a shared ambition to create high-quality destinations," Aldar Group Chief Executive Officer Talal Al Dhiyebi said. "The opportunities on Yas Island and at Seih Sdeirah establish a strong foundation for our collaboration with Arada, and we see significant potential to build on the partnership across sectors and geographies in the UAE." Aldar Properties' shares were 0.61% in the red during midday trading in Abu Dhabi.
