Today, the first batch of observation images and survey data from the four scientific payloads of the “Smile” satellite jointly developed by China and Europe was released. At present, the satellite has successfully passed the summary review of in-orbit tests and moved into the scientific operation stage. The first batch of satellite in-orbit observation images and detection data included the first time that an ultraviolet auroral imager obtained uninterrupted panoramic and detailed structural images of auroras in the northern hemisphere; images of the Great Magellan Nebula supernova remnant taken by a soft X-ray imager; and the magnetometer and low energy ion analyzer for the first time obtained high-resolution in-orbit exploration data in the Earth's extremely high orbit.
