Under the project, the company will invest 260 million Norwegian kroner to replace the furnace and its off-gas equipment, which has reached the end of its operational lifetime. During the installation, which is expected to start in the first quarter of 2027, the second furnace will operate as normal. The plant produces 80,000 tonnes of ferrosilicon and 15,000 tonnes of microsilica per year from the two furnaces.
