Enhua Pharmaceutical announced that the company signed an exclusive license agreement with Somnivera, granting it exclusive rights to develop, produce and commercialize a drug under development on a global scale other than mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The drug under development is a Class 1 innovative drug independently developed by the company and has independent intellectual property rights, and is intended to be used to treat sleep disorders. Somnivera will pay an initial payment of $10.5 million, and the company is entitled to a milestone payment of up to $507 million, and tiered royalties calculated as a one-digit to low-double-digit percentage of net sales. The company also acquired 15% of Somnivera's shares through its wholly-owned subsidiary Hong Kong Enhua.
