The Thai Cabinet has approved the 2027 public debt management plan, which will take effect from October 1. It plans to borrow an additional 1.26 trillion baht. The funds will mainly be used to cover the budget deficit. According to cabinet documents released on Tuesday, 1.92 trillion baht will be used in the plan to manage and restructure existing debt, and another 580.6 billion baht will be used for debt repayment. The additional loans included 788 billion baht to cover the fiscal deficit in the 2027 fiscal year. The share of public debt in GDP is expected to remain at 69.7%, below the 70% limit set by Thailand's fiscal framework.
