On September 23, 2026, China's State Administration of Taxation Director Hu Jinglin led a delegation to attend the BRICS Taxation Directors' Meeting in New Delhi, India. The conference was hosted by India's tax department. Tax chiefs and representatives from 10 BRICS countries, including India, China, Brazil, Russia, and South Africa, discussed the theme of “Building Resilient, Innovative, Cooperative and Sustainable BRICS”. Hu Jinglin pointed out that this year marks the 20th anniversary of BRICS cooperation, and the BRICS tax cooperation mechanism has also entered its 15th year. In the face of major adjustments in international tax rules and new requirements for tax work put forward by economic and social development, the Chinese tax authorities are willing to work with all members to uphold the BRICS spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, consolidate the foundation of collection and administration with “resilience”, drive digital transformation with “innovation”, forge broad consensus through “cooperation”, plan a long-term layout with “sustainability”, and continue to expand and deepen the results of BRICS tax cooperation to make greater contributions to improving the global tax governance system.
