The data shows that the global economic and trade friction index continued to be high in July. Looking at the composite index, the global economic and trade friction index for July 2026 was 101, which is at a high level. The amount involved in global economic and trade friction measures fell 18.7% year on year and 2.2% month on month, mainly due to the intensive issuance of import and export tariff measures by the US, the European Union, India, etc. during the same period last year, boosting the index; the world initiated 68 trade remedy investigations in June of this year, but fell back to 17 in July.
