In a secret ballot held on the same day, Nolen received 200 votes, defeating Social Democratic candidate Johanna Harardson, who received 146 votes, and was successfully re-elected. According to the Swedish system arrangement, the Speaker of Parliament will be responsible for consulting with all parties on forming a cabinet and nominating candidates for prime minister to the parliament.
