06:38 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Germany's labor market is "stabilizing," with fewer companies looking to reduce their workforce in September, though a "real recovery" remains elusive, according to the ifo Institute on Monday. The ifo Employment Barometer edged up to 95.1 points from 94.8 points in the previous month. While businesses in the manufacturing and trade sectors continue to plan layoffs, engineering firms, legal and tax consultants and auditors intend to increase their workforce. For service providers, plans for job cuts and hires are "largely balanced."
