Ctrip: Hong Kong's inbound and outbound travel demand recorded growth during the 11th Golden Week, and the number of visitors to Hong Kong became more diversified

The Zhitong Finance App learned that the 11th National Day Golden Week is approaching. According to the latest data on Trip.com, demand for inbound and outbound travel from Hong Kong has all recorded an increase. During Golden Week, the overall number of visitors to Hong Kong increased year-on-year. Mainland China continued to be the largest customer source market. Regions such as Europe and Southeast Asia also recorded significant growth, and the number of visitors to Hong Kong became more diversified. At the same time, Hong Kong people also took advantage of travel during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays. Outbound travel bookings increased by more than 40% year over year. Among them, hotel reservations recorded a high double-digit increase year over year, and travel demand continued to be strong.

Golden Week coincides with holidays in many overseas markets, driving travelers from different regions to travel, and the visitor base structure to Hong Kong is also becoming more diverse. In terms of air ticket bookings, mainland China, Taiwan Province of China, South Korea, Japan and the United Kingdom are among the top five customer markets; some have also recorded growth compared to remote markets. Air ticket bookings to Hong Kong in Belgium, Portugal and the Netherlands have all nearly tripled or more, while Brazil and Malaysia have also more than doubled, reflecting a further increase in Hong Kong's attractiveness to Europe and other overseas markets.

In addition to traditional attractions, the concert also became a highlight of the tourist Golden Week trip to Hong Kong. According to Trip.com data, the top two most booked tours during Golden Week were concerts. A number of concerts have become popular tourism projects, which also shows that concerts and large-scale events are increasingly influencing travelers' travel choices.

Hong Kong is not only a popular tourist destination during Golden Week, but local outbound travel demand is also active. During Golden Week, Hong Kong people's outbound travel bookings increased by more than 40% year on year. Among them, hotel bookings recorded a high double digit increase year over year, which was a significant increase.
