According to Woofun AI, Nasdaq-listed company Streamex Corp. (STEX.US) successfully introduced institutional capital allocation, and its core tokenized gold product GLDY received an initial injection of $1 million from Metalayer Capital's fund. This move is seen as a key verification point for the tokenized commodities market's expansion from the retail side to the institutional side.

The funding was executed by systematized investment management firm Metalayer Capital through its Aureon Relative Value Fund. Metalayer's founding team is from a former Two Sigma executive with a deep quantitative background.

According to data compiled by Woofun AI, the core of this strategy is to build a delta neutral position, that is, using GLDY as a long exposure to gold while establishing equal short hedging on gold-related perpetual contracts, thereby divesting the risk of price fluctuations and simply capturing the additional revenue generated by Streamex (STEX.US) through the gold leasing business. According to the disclosure, the strategy aims to obtain an annualized yield of about 3.5%, rather than relying on the rise and fall of gold prices.

This structural design allows capital inflows to be directly converted into GLDY's purchasing demand, thereby expanding the scale of Streamex (STEX.US) assets under management and generating corresponding expenses, and realizes a shift from a traditional sales model to a capital absorption model based on yield attractiveness.

Henry McPhee, co-founder and CEO of Streamex (STEX.US), pointed out that in the list of goals for the next 90 days drawn up in August of this year, converting the first batch of institutional funding into GLDY is a top priority. He stressed that this path of attracting institutional capital through strategic allocation has a completely different growth logic from selling products to investors one by one.

Although the initial investment of $1 million has been confirmed, the size of subsequent funding depends entirely on investors' independent will, and there is no guarantee of continued inflows. Notably, Metalayer did not pay compensation to Streamex (STEX.US) for fund management, and Streamex (STEX.US) did not participate in the management or sponsorship of the fund. The relationship between the two parties was strictly limited to asset issuance and liquidity provision. Metalayer also provides liquidity services for GLDY on some trading platforms and directly participates in the coin's minting and redemption operations, further enhancing the depth and efficiency of the market.

In terms of compliance and transparency, GLDY is sold only to qualified investors who can enjoy exemption from securities registration. Currently, most of the holders are institutions and high-net-worth individuals seeking stable returns. Streamex (STEX.US) has been distributing earnings for six consecutive months, most recently in September, and has publicly disclosed gold reserves through Chainlink's proof of reserves mechanism to ensure the authenticity of asset support. With the launch of the first batch of institutional funds, Streamex (STEX.US) is gradually verifying the viability of tokenized commodities in institutional asset allocation. This development may provide a reference paradigm for more traditional financial capital to enter the crypto-native commodity sector in the future.
