Recently, the China Mobile Data Center Project constructed by China Construction Third Bureau General Contracting Company was officially put into use in the Jiangdong New Area of Haikou City. As an important digital infrastructure for the Hainan Free Trade Port, the project completed the expansion of mechanical and electrical facilities based on the completion of the first phase, providing solid support for the subsequent launch of the data center business, cross-border data flow, and the digital economy. The project is being built in three phases. The first phase of the project has already been completed. The second phase of the project delivered this time has further improved mechanical and electrical facilities, marking a new stage in the digital infrastructure construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, reserving sufficient space for communication network development over the next 10 to 15 years. As a large-scale data exchange center in the Asia-Pacific region, the project is an important node for implementing the “East Digital Western Computing” strategic deployment. By forming a “2+1+1" layout with 2 international sea cables and 1 international entry/exit station, the project has built hierarchical infrastructure capabilities of “hot spot concentration, cross-regional radiation, and edge coverage” to serve international digital services such as data going overseas, cross-border trade, cross-border investment, smart medical care, and edge computing to build a foundation for international information infrastructure.
