Today marks the 10th anniversary of the completion of the 500-meter single-aperture spherical radio telescope FAST. After ten years of operation, FAST continued to explore the vast sky and achieved a number of original results. After completing three days of comprehensive maintenance, today, the “China Sky Eye” has begun a new round of observations exploring the universe. Furthermore, on a mountain three to four kilometers from FAST, a 40-meter aperture telescope from the FAST Phase II test team ushered in the construction of a critical node. Jiang Peng, Director and Chief Engineer of FAST Operation and Development Center: We plan to build dozens of 40-meter telescopes around FAST to build the world's only comprehensive aperture array “centered around a giant telescope and surrounded by a medium-sized telescope”. Once the array is completed, FAST resolution can be increased 200 times and sensitivity increased by 1 times. In the future, the FAST core array will not only be able to see far, but can also be seen more clearly.
