A $980 Million Reason to Buy Redwire Stock

Redwire (RDW) has been selected by Space Systems Command as one of 15 contractors eligible to compete under a major new defense initiative. The selection positions RDW to bid on specific task orders encompassing the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of space-based and ground-based hardware.

The announcement brings a much-needed reprieve to Redwire stock that is still trading at less than half its price in late May.

Why That Selection Matters for Redwire Stock

Redwire’s selection for the U.S. Space Force’s NITE-STAR program opens access to a $980 million multiple-award IDIQ contract vehicle.

While the task order implies competition among the 15 selected vendors rather than delivering an immediate boost to revenue, securing a seat at the table alone is bullish for RDW shares.

Why? Because it sets up a pipeline for the company to win high-margin defense work, reinforcing its stature as a trusted national security vendor amid the Pentagon’s aggressive ramp-up of spending on space infrastructure.

Note that Barchart also now holds an “8% BUY” opinion on Redwire, indicating technical momentum is also beginning to turn in its favor.

What Else Makes RDW Shares Attractive?

Beyond the NITE-STAR selection, Redwire shares present a compelling growth narrative backed by a diversified tech ecosystem.

Redwire is deepening its presence in high-value defense, digital engineering, and satellite infrastructure. It’s expanding its commercial capabilities as well through strategic investments in next-gen phased array antennae and in-space pharmaceutical manufacturing partnerships.

Redwire is currently trading at a price-to-sales (P/S) multiple of less than 9x, which looks attractive for a company that grew its revenue by a whopping 90% year-on-year in its latest reported quarter.

Management now expects a total of at least $450 million in sales this year.

Wall Street Remains Bullish on Redwire

Crucially, Wall Street analysts also remain bullish on RDW stock for the remainder of 2026.

According to Barchart, the consensus rating on Redwire sits at “Moderate Buy” currently, and the mean price target of $14.39 indicates the firm’s ongoing share price surge is not out of steam just yet.
