According to the news, the company previously focused on geothermal energy achieved its first electricity generation at the Cape Station geothermal development project in Utah. The company said this is the first time a global utility-grade enhanced geothermal development project has reached this milestone. AI computing power is putting higher demands on a stable power supply. Recently, technology giants such as Google, Amazon, and Meta have increased the layout of clean energy diversified electricity supply. Fervo Energy has signed a major power purchase agreement with Alphabet's Google, and plans to turn its Utah project into the world's largest enhanced geothermal power generation facility.

According to the agreement, Fervo will supply nearly 400 megawatts of electricity to Google, which is large enough to meet the electricity needs of a medium-sized city. This will also be Fervo's largest power supply agreement so far. According to reports, Fervo plans to supply electricity to Google from 2028 through the Cape Station project in southwestern Utah.
