With a market cap of $20.1 billion, Ralph Lauren Corporation (RL) is a global leader in the design, marketing, and distribution of luxury lifestyle products across apparel, accessories, fragrances, home, and hospitality. For nearly six decades, the company has built its reputation around authentic and timeless style across diverse products, brands, channels, and international markets.

Companies valued over $10 billion are generally described as “large-cap” stocks, and Ralph Lauren fits right into that category. Its portfolio includes globally recognized brands such as Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Collection, Purple Label, Double RL, and Lauren Ralph Lauren.

Shares of the New York-based company have fallen 19.2% from its 52-week high of $421.60. The stock has decreased 19.1% over the past three months, a more pronounced decline than the broader State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF’s (XLY) 3.9% drop over the same time frame.

The stock is down 5.3% on a YTD basis, a milder decline than XLY’s 7.4% dip. Moreover, shares of the premium apparel company have risen 7.4% over the past 52 weeks, outpacing XLY’s 7.7% decline over the same time frame.

RL stock has been trading below its 200-day moving average since March.

Ralph Lauren shares rose nearly 4% on Aug. 6 after the company beat quarterly estimates, with Q1 2027 revenue reaching $1.96 billion and adjusted EPS of $4.59. Strong demand from younger shoppers drove sales growth, particularly in Asia where sales rose 24% and China sales increased more than 40%, with North American sales grew 13%. The company also raised its annual revenue forecast, supported by strong brand momentum and broad consumer demand across its lifestyle offerings.

In comparison, rival Kontoor Brands, Inc. (KTB) has outpaced RL stock on a YTD basis, with KTB stock rising 7.5%. Nevertheless, KTB stock has decreased 17.9% over the past 52 weeks, lagging behind RL stock.

Due to the stock’s strong performance over the past year, analysts remain bullish on RL. It has a consensus rating of “Strong Buy” from the 19 analysts in coverage, and the mean price target of $441.28 is a premium of 30.8% to current levels.
