President Shala of the Syrian Transitional Government delivered a speech at the general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly on the 23rd, reaffirming that the Golan Heights is Syrian territory. Shara said, “Any attempt to infringe on our country's sovereignty or violate international law will be stopped. The Golan Heights will always be Syrian territory.” He said that Syria strictly abides by the “Disengagement of Forces Agreement” signed between Syria and Israel in 1974 and called on the Israeli military to withdraw to the line until December 8, 2024. The Syrian side opposes Israel's attempts to impose fait accompli facts and acts of aggression that jeopardize peace and security.
