Anthropic negotiates leasing 1 gigawatt of computing power, APO.US (APO.US) Stream may become a new landlord

The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to people familiar with the matter, Anthropic is in early discussions with Stream Data Centers on leasing up to 1 gigawatt (1 GW) of computing power capacity.

People familiar with the matter said Anthropic has discussed entering the project developed by the data center developer as a direct tenant — the company is majority-owned by Apollo Global Management (APO.US).

The AI company is likely to deploy tensor processing units (TPUs) designed by Broadcom (AVGO.US) and Google (GOOGL.US) in these facilities. People familiar with the matter said that these facilities may also use Nvidia (NVDA.US) graphics processing units (GPUs) or other AI chips.

Anthropic also discussed the possibility of Google providing credit guarantees to finance the project. It's unclear what part of the project Google will be underpinning.
