From September 16 to 17, the 2026 China-ASEAN Environmental Cooperation Forum was held in Nanning, Guangxi. The forum was co-hosted by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Government. The theme was “From Vision to Action: Co-creating a Green Future”. More than 200 representatives from environmental departments, relevant international organizations, research institutions and enterprises from China and ASEAN countries attended the conference. Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment introduced the latest developments in China's ecological environment protection and combating climate change, and expressed their willingness to work with ASEAN to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and ASEAN, promote mutual promotion between the four major global initiatives and “ASEAN Community Vision 2045” in the field of green and low carbon; promote close exchanges and coordination between the two sides on important global ecological environment and climate issues to jointly safeguard the interests of developing countries; and jointly explore green investment and sustainable finance models to give full play to the role of green finance in supporting and safeguarding regional sustainable development.
