Hong Kong: About 1.29 million mainland visitors are expected to visit Hong Kong during the National Day Golden Week

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Hong Kong's Chief Secretary for Administration Chen Guoji said during the interdepartmental working group meeting on festival arrangements that the number of visitors to Hong Kong during the Mainland's National Day Golden Week is expected to increase. The Immigration Department estimates that during the Mainland's National Day Golden Week this year, about 1.29 million mainland visitors entered Hong Kong via various sea, land and air control points. The average number of visitors per day increased by more than 5% compared to last year's Mainland National Day Golden Week.

Chen Guoji said that the Hong Kong Government will do a good job of preparing to receive visitors to Hong Kong, maintain close ties with relevant agencies and the tourism industry, and do a good job in traffic management, information release, public transportation and port arrangements to provide visitors to Hong Kong with a high-quality experience. The port department has reduced the number of vacations for frontline personnel in order to flexibly allocate manpower and open additional inspection counters and passageways to channel traffic flow.

In response to a significant increase in the number of visitors visiting camps such as Dongba and Ham Tin Bay at Saigon's Wan Yi Reservoir during the Mainland's National Day Golden Week, the police will deploy uniformed personnel to implement traffic control at strategic locations in Pak Tam Chung, Man Yee Road and Dongba during peak tourist arrival and departure times.
