The market is treating Vusion like a problem, not a puzzle. The stock closed at €133 after a choppy few months, even though the latest half year delivered €819.8m in revenue and €131.7m in net income from ongoing operations. That gap between sentiment and cash generation is the story today. Traders are reacting to forecasts of slower earnings ahead while the company is printing double digit margins and solid free cash flow progress. The question for you is whether this pressure on the share price reflects risk or simply impatience.

Bulls argue Vusion is shifting from a hardware supplier to a higher quality retail digitization platform with richer software economics. H1 gives that view some real footing. Recurring value added services, or VAS, climbed to about 16% of sales and management is openly targeting approximately 40% organic VAS growth for 2026, helped by the In Store Media deal that would lift VAS to roughly €400m and above 20% of turnover. Cloud scale is no longer a slideware claim, with more than 50,000 stores online and around 200,000 Captana cameras in the field.
The other key bull claim is that a capital light model will turn into strong cash generation as volumes build. Operating free cash flow of €127m, up more than 50%, supports that direction even though headline free cash flow for H1 was still negative after reversals of down payments and shareholder returns.
Compare Vusion’s improving margins, growing VAS mix and rising cash generation with what the street is baking in. This set of results only partly supports that script. Guidance for 15 to 20% adjusted revenue growth, even after tariff and FX headwinds, suggests management is not flagging a post Walmart air pocket yet, although the reversal of down payments and negative H1 free cash flow of €221m show cash conversion is not on a clean, self funding footing.
VAS and Captana adoption are another pressure point. Recurring VAS rising to about 16% of turnover and strong VAS growth show retailers are subscribing, but with H1 still heavily project led and VAS below management’s future mix ambitions, the margin mix shift is not yet de risked. Europe is described as improving rather than already scaled, so regional execution risk remains more delayed than resolved.
Volatile trading and guidance framed around only mid teens adjusted revenue growth leave a simple question: Are these hiccups around project phasing, or early signs that Vusion’s rollout model and earnings quality are more fragile than they look on recent numbers?
