The 20 countries are: Norway, Finland, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Latvia, Moldova, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. The statement called on governments and industry to take immediate action to ensure that the development of artificial intelligence complies with international law and is always under “human guidance, supervision and control.”
