Siemens Wins Up to EUR1 Billion Deal for New High-speed Train Lines in Vietnam

06:48 AM EDT, 09/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Siemens' (SIE.F) transport technology unit, Siemens Mobility, secured a turnkey contract worth up to 1 billion euros from a Vingroup unit to support the development of two high-speed rail lines in Vietnam. The German technology group will act as the project's technology partner, providing advanced rail systems and technical expertise, according to a Tuesday release. It will deliver 10 Velaro Novo trains, along with communications and electrification. VinSpeed High-Speed Rail Investment and Development Joint Stock Co., part of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, will be responsible for project development, track construction and civil works. The project comprises the 121-kilometer Hanoi to Quang Ninh and the 54-km Ben Thanh to Can Gio high-speed rail lines.
