HSBC (00005) CFO Guo Yuying says she will not withdraw from the business community and will consider other leadership positions

The Zhitong Finance App learned that HSBC Holdings (00005) CFO Pam Kaur (Pam Kaur) has made it clear that he will not withdraw from the business community as a result. According to media sources, Guo Yuying, who has already announced her resignation, made her first public appearance at the 24th Barclays Bank Global Financial Services Conference held in New York last Tuesday (September 15) to respond to concerns about the reasons for her departure and future plans.

According to reports, Kwok Pei-ying said that she is not a “lie on the beach (lie on the beach)” type of person and will consider other leadership opportunities, and that she hopes to make a meaningful contribution in her next job.

HSBC announced on September 10 that Kwok Pei-ying has resigned and will step down in the first half of 2027 (no later than the annual general meeting of shareholders for that year, usually held in May). Kwok Pei-ying, 62, has been CFO since January 1, 2025. Her term of office is about two years. She is the first female CFO in HSBC's 160-year history. HSBC said that the board of directors has initiated a succession selection process and will consider both internal and external candidates.

After leaving her full time as CFO and Executive Director, Guo Peiying will be transferred to the position of consultant to assist CEO Georges Elhedery in handling related strategic projects until the end of 2028.
