The Zhitong Finance App learned that Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Authority Chairman Yao Jianhua said that Hong Kong will further improve the insurance supervision system and establish a multi-level risk management system, and that the Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Authority is actively developing reinsurance and exclusive self-insurance services.

Yao Jianhua pointed out that the Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Authority is committed to cultivating an exclusive self-insurance and insurance-linked securities ecosystem, developing special insurance to support commodities including precious metals, expanding the “special shipping risk pool” underwriting capacity, and promoting an “artificial intelligence promotion plan.” It will also encourage the industry to diversify cross-border insurance products, deepen connectivity with the Mainland insurance market, and give full play to Hong Kong's strategic role as a risk management hub.

He stressed that the Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Authority will cooperate with the “Hong Kong First Five-Year Plan” to implement measures such as deepening regulatory collaboration, creating special risk management tools, and improving a risk-based capital system, thereby supporting Hong Kong's construction of “four centers and one highland” and consolidating its competitive advantage as an international financial center.
