The Zhitong Finance App learned that Ximei Resources (09936) rose more than 10% in the afternoon. As of press release, it rose 10.52% to HK$14.5, with a turnover of HK$13.3951 million.

According to the news, production was completely stopped in January and March 2026 due to heavy rainfall and two serious landslides in the Rubaya Coltan mining area in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The mine accounts for more than 15% of global supply, directly triggering market concerns about shrinking supply. The price of tantalite then showed a pulsating rise, surging 46% month-on-month in February and surging 87% in March. The aftermath of this supply shock is still affecting the industrial chain.

SDIC Securities International released a research report saying that in the first half of the year, Qimei Resources's revenue, gross profit, net profit, and EPS all hit new highs since listing. Performance is driven by disruptions in the global supply of tantalum raw materials, rising prices of tantalum products; high downstream boom in AI semiconductors, optical communications, aerospace, and superconductivity driving sales growth; the share of high value-added products continues to rise, and product structure optimization drives improvements in gross margin. The bank said it is optimistic that the company, as one of the world's leading tantalum-niobium smelters, will fully benefit from structural demand dividends for computing power, optical modules, superconductivity, and aerospace
