Some business executives supported slowing down the pace of artificial intelligence research and development, and called on all parties to work together to reach a consensus. Zuckerberg wrote that Meta independently decided to suspend development of the Muse artificial intelligence tool, and did not ask its peers to slow down the development progress simultaneously. He said, “Meta has delayed the launch of Muse by several months to focus on security. We're not asking other companies to follow suit, but are making it part of our daily work because it's clearly the right choice for the public and ourselves.”
