On the morning of September 10, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Plev. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-European economic and trade relations. Wang Wentao said that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and Brazil, bilateral economic and trade relations have continued to develop at a high level, and cooperation in trade and investment fields has become increasingly close. Baolaihua is welcome to attend the 26th China International Investment and Trade Fair and the 2026 China International Trade in Services Fair. China is willing to promote an upward balance in bilateral trade and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest and develop businesses in Brazil in accordance with the principle of marketization. We hope that the insured will protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises to invest in insurance and provide a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment. Wang Wentao said that the Chinese side has noticed that the EU's business environment has continued to deteriorate in recent years, and related legislation such as the “Industrial Accelerator Act”, the “Cybersecurity Law” amendments, and foreign subsidy investigations have seriously affected Chinese companies' investment in Europe. Recently, the European Parliament released a report on the “Industrial Accelerator Act”, which proposes to drastically lower the investment review threshold in key areas such as electric vehicles, set up barriers to foreign shareholding and transfer of core technology, and restrict non-EU companies from participating in public procurement. Recently, the two sides are engaged in intensive negotiations under the framework of the Sino-European trade and investment consultation mechanism. We hope that the Bulgarian government will play an active role within the EU, push the European side to adhere to the new position of a stable and balanced key trade partnership between China and Europe, and resolve differences and frictions through dialogue and consultation.
