From September 10 to 11, 2026, China and the 10 ASEAN countries held the 58th Joint Working Group Meeting to implement the “Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea” in Manila, Philippines, to continue discussions on the “Code of Conduct in the South China Sea”. The meeting was co-chaired by Tan Yusheng, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Adina, Director of the Maritime Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
