The Zhitong Finance App learned that from September 9 to 10, the Hong Kong Investment Promotion Department appeared at the 2026 Inclusion · Bund Conference in Shanghai to showcase Hong Kong's advantages as an international financial center and an international innovation and technology center through a series of themed forums, exclusive exhibition areas and a series of exchange events, and assist mainland enterprises to expand the international market with the “Finance+” and “AI+” dual engines. The theme of this conference is “Co-creating a New AI Economy”.

The Hong Kong Special Forum, hosted by the Hong Kong Investment Promotion Department, had the theme of “Sailing Through the Seas — Hong Kong's 'Financial Science and Technology Innovation+ 'Helping Mainland Enterprises Travel the World”. It brought together more than 20 representatives from the HKSAR Government, regulators, financial markets, innovation and technology ecosystem and enterprises, focusing on topics such as financing, treasury management, technological innovation, talent development, cross-border compliance and international market expansion. The forum brought together the Hong Kong Financial Services and Treasury, the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, the Investment Promotion Department, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and representatives from the fields of finance, technology and professional services. Through policy interpretations, panel discussions and business cases, participants could learn how Hong Kong can use its policy advantages, capital and innovative technology to help mainland enterprises develop international business.

Participants pointed out that the internationalization of mainland enterprises is moving from exporting products to a stage of deep globalization where they export capabilities and go overseas. It is necessary to establish comprehensive capabilities covering global capital mobilization, innovative research and development, compliance management, and cross-border operations. The forum discussed how enterprises can make good use of Hong Kong's cross-border RMB network, multi-currency asset allocation and fintech infrastructure to improve the efficiency of global treasury management, and use Hong Kong's innovation and technology support policies, international research talents and intellectual property protection system to promote offshore R&D and artificial intelligence innovation.

Xu Huili, secretary of the Shanghai Huangpu District Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that as a world-renowned international financial center, Hong Kong has a mature capital market, a first-class professional service system, a legal system in line with the international community, and rich human resources, and has become an important international platform for mainland enterprises to go global. In the first half of this year, the Huangpu District (Hong Kong) Talent Liaison and Business Outbound Service Station was officially launched in Hong Kong, and the “Creative H Square” Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully held. A series of practical results are gradually being translated into practical results of Shanghai and Hong Kong working together to help mainland enterprises go global. In the future, Huangpu District will further deepen cooperation with relevant departments and institutions in Hong Kong, promote cooperation between the two places in policy interface, talent exchange and capital interconnection, and create a development channel for enterprises from Shanghai to the world.

Leung Han-king, Global CEO of Financial Services, Technology and Sustainable Development at the Hong Kong Investment Promotion Department, said that the internationalization of mainland enterprises is moving towards a new stage of collaborative development of technology, brands, capital and industrial chains. Hong Kong not only connects to global capital, markets and talent networks, but can also provide enterprises with comprehensive support such as financing, R&D, professional services and overseas business development. It will continue to play the role of “super contact” and “super value-added person” to help mainland enterprises seize new opportunities in the artificial intelligence era.

The Hong Kong Investment Promotion Department set up an exclusive exhibition area during the conference to showcase Hong Kong's comprehensive advantages as a platform for enterprises to go overseas. Hong Kong Fintech Week x StartMeupHK also participated. According to reports, the department participated in the Bund Conference for the second year in a row and will invite Yangtze River Delta companies to actively participate in flagship events such as Hong Kong Fintech Week and StartMeupHK to promote innovation, industry and capital integration.
