We recently learned from the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs that in the first eight months of this year, Guangdong's foreign trade imports and exports amounted to 7.54 trillion yuan, an increase of 21.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 21.7% of the country's total import and export value, an increase of 0.7 percentage points over the same period last year, and continued to rank first in the country in scale. Among them, exports amounted to 4.42 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.6%; imports amounted to 3.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 39.5%; and the trade surplus reached 1.3 trillion yuan, narrowing by 24.6%. Overall, the import and export volume remained high at trillion yuan in August, and the growth rate accelerated. In August alone, Guangdong's imports and exports reached 1.05 trillion yuan, an increase of 29.7%. The monthly scale remained at a high level of trillion yuan for 3 consecutive months, and the growth rate was 10.7 percentage points higher than in July. Among them, exports amounted to 617.95 billion yuan, an increase of 16.7%, an increase of 9.7 percentage points over July; imports amounted to 428.09 billion yuan, an increase of 54.5%, an increase of 13.8 percentage points.
