We learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that the “Green Mine Construction Code” series of national standards, jointly formulated by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration, was officially released and will be implemented on October 1. The “Code” covers 10 major minerals such as coal, onshore oil and gas, and non-ferrous metals, and China's green mine construction standard system has been further improved. The “Code” consists of 10 parts. It focuses on the six aspects of resource extraction, comprehensive utilization of resources, green and low carbon, ecological restoration, scientific and technological innovation and standardized management, and the mining environment, putting forward differentiated construction requirements based on the development methods and process characteristics of different minerals, taking into account mandatory bottom lines and encouraging orientation, and covers the entire life cycle of mine development and utilization. In terms of resource extraction, the “Code” requires all types of mines to promote environmentally friendly mining processes according to local conditions, and encourages the use of intelligent equipment such as driverless mining cards and energy-saving equipment. Vigorously promote intelligent and new energy equipment, and give priority to driverless mining cards and energy-saving equipment. In terms of comprehensive utilization of resources, the “Code” highlights the circular economy concept of “eat dry and press clean”, making it clear that those that can be comprehensively used in mines should be used as comprehensively as possible, and those that can be recycled should be recycled as much as possible. In terms of green and low carbon, the “Code” requires enterprises to strictly control wastewater, exhaust gas, dust, and noise emissions to promote carbon reduction. In terms of ecological restoration: The “Code” adheres to the combination of natural restoration and artificial restoration, requiring enterprises to “recover while mining” and restore vegetation and landscape according to local conditions.
