Purchase prices for industrial producers rose 5.8% year on year and 0.3% month on month. On average from January to August, the ex-factory price of industrial producers rose 2.0% over the same period last year, and the purchase price of industrial producers rose 3.2%.
I. Year-on-year changes in industrial producer prices
In August, among the ex-factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production rose 5.0% year on year, affecting the overall ex-factory price level of industrial producers rising by about 3.92 percent. Among them, the price of the extractive industry increased by 17.8%, the price of the raw materials industry by 6.7%, and the price of the processing industry by 3.1%. The price of living materials fell by 0.5%, affecting the overall level of ex-factory prices of industrial producers by about 0.10 percentage points. Among them, the price of food decreased by 2.3%, the price of clothing decreased by 1.2%, the price of general daily necessities decreased by 0.8%, and the price of durable consumer goods increased by 1.2%.
Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the price of non-ferrous metal materials and wires rose 19.8%, the price of fuel power products rose 9.8%, the price of chemical raw materials rose 9.5%, the price of textile raw materials rose 3.8%, and the price of ferrous metal materials rose 0.3%; the price of construction materials and non-metal products fell by 3.2%, and the price of agricultural and sideline products decreased by 0.5%.
II. Month-on-month changes in industrial producer prices
In August, of the ex-factory prices of industrial producers, the price of means of production rose 0.4% month-on-month, affecting the overall ex-factory price level of industrial producers rising by about 0.32 percentage points. Among them, the price of the extractive industry rose 2.7%, the price of the raw materials industry rose 0.8%, and the price of the processing industry remained flat. The price of living materials increased by 0.2%, affecting the overall ex-factory price increase of about 0.04 percentage points for industrial producers. Among them, the price of food and clothing remained the same, the price of general daily necessities fell by 0.2%, and the price of durable consumer goods increased by 0.6%.
Among the purchase prices of industrial producers, the price of fuel power products rose 1.4%, the price of non-ferrous metal materials and wires rose 0.8%, the price of textile raw materials rose 0.6%; the price of ferrous metal materials fell 0.6%, and the price of chemical raw materials fell 0.4%; and the prices of agricultural and sideline products, construction materials and non-metals all remained flat.
