On September 5, the unveiling ceremony of the Yang Zhenning Institute for Advanced Studies of Tsinghua University was held in the auditorium. Academician Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University; Wang Yayu; Academician Gu Binglin, former president and former dean of the Institute of Advanced Studies; Academician Duan Wenhui, dean of the Institute of Advanced Studies; Ms. Weng Fan, wife of Yang Zhenning; and Professor Zhai Hui, head of the Department of Physics, attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Wang Yayu read out the decision to change the name of the “Tsinghua University Institute of Advanced Studies” to the “Tsinghua University Yang Zhenning Institute of Advanced Studies.” Wang Yayu said that the institutional genes, cutting-edge exploration and talent training model of the Institute of Advanced Studies have been deeply integrated into the Tsinghua physics system. Today, the Institute of Advanced Studies is named after Mr. Yang Zhenning. It is not only the school's noble tribute to this century master, but also solidifies and inherits this academic gene of free exploration and realism. Gu Binglin, Weng Fan, and Duan Wenhui spoke separately and reviewed the exuberant years of Mr. Yang Zhenning's founding of the Institute of Advanced Studies.
