12:29 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Hapag-Lloyd (HLAG.F) is working on improving its $4.2 billion offer for Israeli container shipping company Zim Integrated Shipping Services, Chief Executive Officer Rolf Habben Jansen said Monday. The improvements will provide Israel access to key shipping channels, including routes from Asia, bolster protections under the Golden Share framework, and block foreign interference in its cargo movement. The German shipping company's binding merger agreement with Zim remains subject to regulatory approvals.
