The Macao SAR Government announced that in order to further promote the opening up of the aviation market and the construction of an international air transport hub on the west bank of Macau's Pearl River, the HKSAR Government has set up a “Civil Aviation Industry Development Working Group” headed by the Secretary for Transport and Works to strengthen cross-sector collaboration, promote effective implementation of relevant policies, and comprehensively promote the high-quality development of the civil aviation industry in the Macao SAR. The main functions of the working group include carrying out comprehensive research and implementing various tasks in an orderly manner on matters related to the development of the civil aviation industry, such as commercial air passenger transport licenses and the construction of an international air transport hub on the west bank of Macau's Pearl River, to cooperate in achieving the development goals and strategic positioning of Macau's “Third Five-Year Plan”, and to help Macao better integrate and serve the overall development of the country.
