According to Shaanxi Coal Group, on September 7, Beiyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shaanxi Coal Group, signed a cooperation project with Xi'an Jiaotong University and the unveiling ceremony of the High Value Carbon Dioxide Utilization Research Institute was held at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Port. The two sides signed a cooperation agreement on a pilot project for carbon dioxide hydrogenation aviation fuel. According to reports, starting in 2023, Beiyuan Chemical and Xi'an Jiaotong University will launch a small trial study on key technologies for carbon dioxide hydrogenation to aviation kerosene. After two years of intensive research, an important breakthrough was achieved, achieving a carbon dioxide cycle conversion rate of more than 90%, aviation coal fraction selectivity > 80%, and kilogram catalyst preparation. The stable operation time of the device can reach 1,500 hours, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level. The project has successively passed industry achievements certification and acceptance by the Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Department.
