The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology today released the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Information and Communications Industry”. According to the “Plan”, it is expected that by 2030, a next-generation communication network with complete coverage and leading performance will be fully built, laying a solid foundation for basically modernizing the information and communication industry by 2035. The “Plan” focuses on a number of major indicators covering the five areas of overall development, innovative development, green development, infrastructure, and application popularization of the information and communication industry. Among them, by 2030, the revenue of the information and communication industry will reach 4.1 trillion yuan; 50 5G base stations per 10,000 people; the penetration rate of 5G users will reach 95%; the number of broadband users above gigabytes will reach 320 million households; and the scale of intelligent computing power will reach 980 billion billion floating-point operations per second.
