In response, the Gwangju Economic Justice Practice Citizens' Union issued a statement on the same day saying, “Even if we send our military to an area of military conflict and call it a 'non-combat mission', the danger will not disappear as a result” and “the lives of citizens and soldiers must not be used as a means of diplomacy or alliance.”
