12:53 AM EDT, 09/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) signed a preliminary deal with four Spanish unions on pay and working conditions, a move Industry Minister Jordi Hereu described as a "step forward" in a social media post on Sept. 4. The European aircraft maker reached the proposal of understanding with unions UGT, ATP, CCOO, and SIPA, representing over 80% of workers in Airbus Spain, Hereu said. The proposal will be forwarded to Airbus' entire staff for a binding referendum, Reuters reported the same day, citing a company memo. Airbus did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
