Domo stock inched up 2.4% to US$3.88 into the Q2 FY2027 print, a small price move for a company still wrestling with losses and a stressed balance sheet. The headline is not the top line. The story is a business intelligence platform that again reported a net loss, while carrying negative shareholders’ equity and a debt load sitting under a forbearance agreement.
Short term traders may focus on the modest gain and quarterly loss per share of about US$0.21. Longer term holders are watching something very different. The key question is how much time that forbearance and any potential transaction really buys Domo.

Bulls argue Domo’s AI agents, partner integrations and consumption pricing can deepen usage and lift renewals and upsells. The latest quarter gives partial support. Gross retention of 86.7% and net revenue retention of 95.5% both improved, and the newer consumption cohorts look stronger again with 92% gross retention and 108% net revenue retention. That is the clearest milestone hit for the engagement and expansion part of the thesis.
Where the bullish case looks weaker is in the top line and forward demand signals. Subscription revenue of US$69.8m fell modestly, and billings of US$60.4m also declined. That does not yet line up with a story of AI driven acceleration. The margin narrative has more traction. Subscription gross margin above 80%, non GAAP operating income of about US$4.4m, and roughly break even adjusted free cash flow show expense discipline starting to create operating leverage.
Reveal where the surface looks calm but the models start to disagree on Domo’s next inflection points, and see what the street is quietly baking in for revenue, margins and cash flow in the analyst estimates for Domo. The core bearish worry on Domo is that a stressed balance sheet and uncertain sale process overshadow any product or AI progress. This quarter gives those concerns real support. The annual recurring revenue covenant breach forced all debt to be treated as current, which keeps refinancing and repayment risk firmly in view even with the forbearance agreement in place. Management also declined guidance and skipped Q&A because of the potential transaction. That limits visibility just when lenders and shareholders most want clarity.
Bears also argue that Domo’s growth engine is vulnerable. Subscription revenue of US$69.8m and billings of US$60.4m both moved in the wrong direction, so there is no clear evidence yet of a demand rebound from AI features or consumption pricing. Stronger net revenue retention and roughly break even adjusted free cash flow help, but they do not yet answer the core liquidity and durability questions.
