07:48 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Metzler Capital Markets lifted its price target for Airbus (AIR.PA, AIR.F) as it rolled its valuation forward to better reflect the European aircraft maker's earnings potential over the long term amid a projected increase in aircraft deliveries. "Airbus remains one of our preferred stocks in our coverage, and we view the recent share price weakness as an attractive entry point into a company with strong bargaining power over its customers as demonstrated during the pandemic, the highest visibility in its history and a profit growth profile that is rare among European industrials. While the production ramp-up is not entirely predictable, we believe execution risks have eased, supported by an improving supply chain," analysts said Friday. "Furthermore, the group's 2029 adj. EBIT target of EUR 12-13 bn (M'e: EUR 12.7 bn), implying at least 60% adj. EBIT growth versus the 2026 goal, underscores management's conviction in rising delivery rates and a smooth conversion of the backlog." The research firm also sees the company's aircraft delivery target for 2026 as "achievable" amid an improvement in the supply chain. As such, the price target was revised to 242 euros from 224 euros, while the buy recommendation on the stock was reiterated.
