Hou Zengqian, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and chief scientist of the Tianzhou-3 mission, said that one of the important tasks we are working on is the preparation of a new generation of all-Mars geological maps, using “data-driven and intelligent mapping” as the core concept, making full use of Tianzhou-1 mission exploration data, coordinating multi-source international data, integrating multi-modal information such as images, spectra, radar, gravity, etc., to highlight new scientific understanding of the geological evolution of Mars, and introducing new artificial intelligence editing technology to achieve intelligent geological interpretation. This will be the world's first intelligent geological map of Mars. It is planned to complete the 1.0 version of the 1:5 million geological map of Mars by the end of 2028.
