European Commission Clears Joint Purchase of Packaging Makers Caiba, Nosoplas

06:49 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition of polyethylene terephthalate packaging companies Caiba and Nosoplas by fellow Spain-based entities Portobello Capital Fondo IV, Cobega and Sonab. The executive body of the European Union said Tuesday the acquisition would not raise competition concerns in the bloc, citing limited impact on the markets where the involved companies operate.
