Recently, it was discovered that in some provinces, there are still cases where vehicle carriers are illegally overloaded and transported. Problems such as illegal loading at the source, illegal modification of vehicles, and illegal loading and unloading in highway service areas are prominent. Since this year, a total of 14,546 vehicle carriers have been investigated and punished across the country. Of these, the proportion of illegal vehicles in Jilin, Shanghai, Shandong, Hubei, and Anhui is close to 60%. In terms of vehicle logistics companies, 15 vehicle logistics companies with more than 100 vehicles were investigated and punished, involving 2,727 illegal vehicles, including Jilin Changjiu United Logistics Co., Ltd., Chuzhou Branch of Jilin Changjiu United Logistics Co., Ltd., Shanghai West Shanghai Logistics Co., Ltd., Zhucheng Branch of Beijing Fuhuai Transportation Co., Ltd., and Jilin Jiaye Logistics Co., Ltd. investigated and punished the largest number of illegal vehicles, accounting for 56% in total. In terms of transporting passenger cars, the problem of illegal overloading of passenger cars produced by five manufacturing companies, including FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd., BYD Automobile Co., Ltd., Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. is prominent. In response to the above problems, the Ministry of Transport has deployed local transportation authorities to step up the control of vehicle carriers, and work with industry, information technology, public security and other departments to urge passenger car manufacturers to implement source control responsibilities, rectify illegal vehicle modifications, strictly investigate and punish illegal loading and unloading in highway service areas, and strengthen supervision and enforcement of transportation links. The Ministry of Transport will regularly sort out the illegal loading and transportation situation of vehicle carriers in various regions and publicly notify them.
