Hong Kong Stock Exchange IPO Statistics: 106 IPOs and 511 applications are being processed during the year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that the Hong Kong Stock Exchange disclosed statistics on the Hong Kong stock market and IPO applications as of August 31, 2026. In terms of market stock, there were a total of 2,686 listed companies on the Hong Kong Stock Main Board and GEM (GEM) at the beginning of the year; 106 newly listed companies were newly listed during the year, including 104 on the Main Board and 2 GEM; 31 companies were delisted, 23 on the Main Board, and 8 GEM companies. As of August 31, the total number of Hong Kong stock listed companies reached 2,761, 2,455 on the main board, and 306 GEM.

On the IPO application side, as of the reporting date in 2026, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange processed a total of 866 listing applications, 816 on the Main Board, 17 GEM, and 33 other categories. Of these, 379 uncompleted applications were carried over from the end of 2025, and 487 new applications were accepted in 2026.

Looking at the breakdown of application status, 135 applications have been listed, with 104 applications on the main board, 2 GEM cases, and 29 other categories; 23 cases have been approved for listing by the listing committee; 511 applications are being processed, 501 on the main board, 9 GEM cases; and 197 applications have been classified in other states, including situations where the application period has expired, been rejected, sent back, and the company itself has withdrawn.
