On September 1, the second cross-border railway between China and Mongolia — Ganqimaodu — Gashusu Haitu Cross-border Railway, entered the rail paving stage. The project simultaneously laid two sets of track gauges between China and Mongolia. Using a parallel scheme of 1,520 mm wide rail and 1,435 mm standard rail, the total rail paving mileage of the entire line is about 33.5 kilometers. Construction of the Ganqimaodu-Gashu Haitu Cross-border Railway officially began in May 2025. Up to now, all the main offline projects of the project, such as the pile foundation, platform, and pier body, have been completed. It is expected that all girder erection tasks will be completed in October this year, and all rail paving tasks will be completed before the end of the year.
